Homecare & Hospice, Inc. offers a wide range of health, support and volunteer services designed to meet the needs of recovering, disabled, chronically or terminally ill persons and their families/caregivers in their home. The organization was developed to: aid people with acute or chronic illnesses render assistance to those with short-term incapacity to recover and regain their pre-illness lifestyle provide the means for the elderly to maintain independence support those with long-term disabilities provide services to those in need of health care, regardless of ability to pay provide comfort care and support to people who are terminally ill and their families provide bereavement services to families and friends of hospice clients and provide respite care assistance and community resource education to caregivers

Homecare & Hospice recently reduced its service area to a 25-mile radius of Manhattan in order to provide an overall consistent quality of care and better utilize our resources.

Homecare & Hospice provides hospice, home health and health care attendant support services. Hospice services are provided to individuals with terminal illnesses and their families Home Health Services are medical services provided by skilled professionals to individuals with short-term (acute) health care needs Health Care Attendant services are homemaking and personal care services provided to persons with disabilities or chronic illnesses

Services are paid for by health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or self-pay using a sliding fee scale based on the person’s income.

Homecare & Hospice has an interdisciplinary team consisting of: Registered Nurses Licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist Licensed Medical Social Workers Certified Home Health Aides Registered Dietician Chaplain Certified Nurses Aides Volunteers

The doctor will order Home Health or Hospice services. However, anyone can make a referral to Homecare & Hospice for services. For example, your spouse may call for services and we would then contact your doctor to discuss orders for services. Health Care Attendant services do not require a doctor’s order and anyone can refer to services.

In order to provide quality of care, Homecare & Hospice coordinates care with the medical community—including doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, community mental health centers, etc.—as well as with various social service agencies, such as the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, three separate Independent Living Centers and the Riley County Senior Center. Homecare & Hospice has received grants from community and state entities to continue and improve on the services provided to older and disabled individuals and allows the Agency to provide necessary services to all people, regardless of their ability to pay.
