Hospice provides comfort care, education, and support for
families facing incurable illnesses.
The Hospice program is palliative (comfort-oriented), not
curative, in its goals.
Hospice services emphasize the relief of symptoms, such as
pain and physical discomfort, and address the spiritual needs and emotional
stress which may accompany a life-threatening illness.
These services may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid or
private insurance.
